Fourth trimester

What a postnatal care program actually does

The six weeks after birth get less attention than any other part of the pregnancy, and they are the part most women say they were least prepared for.

Recovery is not the same as rest

The standard advice after birth is to rest, and then, at the six-week check, to resume normal activity. Between those two instructions nothing is specified, which is how women end up either immobile for weeks or back at the gym doing crunches on a separated abdominal wall.

A structured postnatal program fills that gap. The pelvic floor and deep core need graded, specific work in a particular order. Diastasis recti needs to be assessed before any abdominal training. A caesarean scar needs its own protocol. None of this is intuitive, and almost none of it is covered at the six-week appointment.

What the program addresses

Pelvic floor recovery

Graded rehabilitation for leaking, heaviness and weakness, in the correct sequence.

Diastasis recti

Assessment first, then core work that closes the gap rather than widening it.

Caesarean healing

Scar care, safe progression and when each stage of movement is appropriate.

Back and posture

Feeding, carrying and lifting are the real causes of postpartum back pain.

Breastfeeding support

Supply, latch, pain and weaning, with somewhere to ask at 2am.

Mental health

Baby blues, postpartum depression and when what you are feeling needs help.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I start after delivery?

Usually around five to six weeks after a normal birth and slightly later after a caesarean, with your doctor's clearance.

Can I do this after a C-section?

Yes. There is a separate progression for caesarean recovery, including scar care.

Will it help me lose the baby weight?

Weight follows recovery, not the other way round. We restore function first, which makes everything after it safe and sustainable.

I am six months postpartum. Is it too late?

No. Pelvic floor and core work help years after birth, not just in the first months.

What does it cost?

Postnatal plans start at Rs 1,500 a month. Full pricing is on the courses page.
